Larnaca is one of the three largest cities in Cyprus and is the main air gateway to the island.
Here you can find an ideal place to live, regardless of your lifestyle and budget.
The main thing is to find an area that is in tune with your mood: as active or as quiet as possible, filled with paintings of the traditional Cypriot spirit or in a modern Mediterranean style.
In recent years, Larnaca has been actively developing. The city is growing and being built up with new elegant buildings of medium height. In the suburbs, private residential complexes and luxurious villas by the sea are being actively built. On the embankment, the marina is being renovated, the first major shopping center Metropolis was opened, many parks and fresh squares filled the center.
This year, for the period of the Christmas holidays, an amusement park from Ayia Napa was installed right on the Europe Square. The statue of the philosopher Zenon still calls for resilience, while locals want a holiday and fun. Crowds of joyful citizens and tourists take to the streets of the city in the evenings to enjoy the fresh sea air. At the same time, Larnaca remains one of the quietest and most comfortable coastal cities of the island.
There are a lot of foreigners, but the city has not lost its uniqueness.
Another important symbol of Larnaca is the pink flamingo. Beautiful birds are eagerly awaited every winter on the salt lakes. And these reserved lands are cherished and honored with special love.
Center of Larnaca
The center is rich in intricate historical architecture and is famous for its developed infrastructure. It includes the Finikoudes promenade with a beautiful promenade, a wooden pier and a medieval fort, as well as several picturesque streets nearby.
At the same time, the central areas are located within walking distance from city beaches, water sports centers, two international schools, museums and many other institutions that make life not only comfortable, but also very involved in Cypriot society and business life. The housing stock is represented by modern buildings, as well as colorful buildings of the past.
Real estate in the center of Larnaca is expensive, so renting a house here is not the cheapest option. For example, a sea view 1-bedroom apartment (64 m2) is for a thousand euros per month. You can also find a brand new 2-bedroom apartment for 2500 euros per month. Not far from the center in the Harbor area, a 1-bedroom apartment (69 m2) is for 1400 euros per month.
Mackenzie
Just a 15-minute walk from the central Finikoudes promenade is the Mackenzie area, which is perfect for lovers of a beautiful beach holiday and sports. In addition, there are many hotels, and bars and restaurants are located right by the water. A unique show is available to the residents of the area - planes landing over the sea waves, because the main airport of Cyprus is located behind. A small 1 bedroom apartment in Mackenzie costs 900 euros per month.
It should be noted that the Mackenzie area is very quiet and calm on weekdays. Nearby is the famous Salt Lake (Aliki), home of flamingos during the winter months, as well as the famous Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque and the medieval Kamares Aqueduct.
Dhekelia Road, Livadia, Oroklini and Pyla
To the east of the center of Larnaca are the suburbs of Livadia, Oroklini and Pyla (including Dhekelia Road). You can get to them by bus or private car. These cozy villages are suitable for family people and those who appreciate silence and privacy. However, here you can find modest housing options, and luxurious ultra-modern villas that meet the requirements of the most demanding tenants. For example, in the nearest suburb of Livadia, a 2-bedroom apartment (90 m2) on the ground floor costs 750 euros per month. In a picturesque area of the village of Pyla, a 4-bedroom villa with a pool and a garden costs 2200 euros.
The Mediterranean Sea with beaches and sports equipment rental clubs are located across the street or right next to the house if you are lucky enough to find a housing option near the water.
Kiti, Pervolia, Meneou
To the west of the center, closer to the airport, there are wonderful quiet villages that you fall in love with at first sight. The village of Kiti, which is famous for the temple of Panagia tis Angeloktistis and the green park nearby. Meneou and Pervolia look like twins and successfully complement the infrastructure of each area. Today, there is a wide choice of properties for rent in Pervolia. Here you can rent a 3-bedroom villa on the first line for 5500 euros.
At 500 meters from the sea, the price of a 3-bedroom house will already be 2800 euros per month. At the same time, the accommodation includes a swimming pool and a garden with gardener services.
Areas of the business center of Larnaca: Aradippou, Drosia, Kamares
The areas are located a bit far from the center. These areas are the most comfortable for many locals. The most important feature is convenient access to the main roads of the city. This space has a wide view and modern architecture. Almost all the largest and most fashionable are also built here. For example, not so long ago a shopping center was opened. Right there, in the old district of Kamares, there is the only cinema in Larnaca.
In Kamares, next to the cinema, a 2-bedroom apartment (90 m2) with a large loggia on the sunny side can be rented for 1200 euros per month.
