For those who can't sleep in the most romantic city and the cultural capital of Cyprus, we have compiled a list of top places where you can relax at midnight.
The nightlife of Paphos is not as vibrant as in other places of the island - a number of bars in Ayia Napa or Limassol are much bigger - but you will not be bored here either. The only thing is that most bars close at two in the morning.
Climbing past Kings Avenue Mall along Apostle Paul Street, we find ourselves in the colorful old town of Paphos. By the way, since 2017, a significant part of it has become a pedestrian zone. There are many souvenir shops, cozy cafes, restaurants and, of course, music bars, which we will talk about in more detail now.
If you do not know about the street of night entertainment, it is difficult to guess about its existence. The old winding streets leading from Poseidonos Avenue to the bars of Agios Antonios Street offer no clues.
Boulevard Resto Wine Bar
A cozy wine boutique in the center of Paphos with an amazing atmosphere, where you can not only drink a glass of good wine while listening to pleasant music, but also have a delicious dinner. Customers note the variety of the menu, the aesthetic presentation of dishes and the special sincerity of the unobtrusive staff. In good weather, you can sit on the open veranda with mysterious old town views. In the event that all the seats are occupied, by magic, additional tables suddenly can appear. On weekends, guests can enjoy live music from Greek artists. Here you can also have breakfast with a special chic, or just come for lunch. The establishment is open daily from 9 am to 2:30 am.
The 'mood laboratory' in the old town will definitely not leave anyone indifferent. The combination of creative design, varied cocktail menu, play of light and good music attracts lovers of vibrant nightlife here. However, here you can simply experiment with the colors and density of liquids, if in childhood you didn’t play enough in chemistry lessons. The bar is open daily from 7:30 am to 2 am.
A cozy coffee house in the evening turns into one of the brightest cocktail bars in Paphos. The owner of Klinki is very proud of the varied list of drinks and gladly tells about each rare novelty to his guests. Visitors also note the quality of the music, the craft beer and the high quality service. There are many locals and foreigners among the guests.
Klinki in Estonian means "gift". In general, there are many restaurants and bars with this name around the world, but this is not a chain, but exclusively local bars. Every day from 7 am to 1 pm it works as a cozy cafe, and from 18:30 to 2 am it is a noisy and cheerful bar.
The cocktail bar is located in the heart of old Paphos. The building of the bar was constructed in the early 1920s. It was originally used to make charcoal from wood, and in the 70s it was a truck garage. The renovation took nearly three years before the establishment officially opened in 2019, just a few months before the pandemic hit. With the new opening in May 2020, an outdoor patio with a garden has been added to the bar, adding more space and a decidedly summery vibe.
Guests are offered excellent cocktails, different tastes depending on the season. The main idea of the project is simple: to have fun in any case. A place to drink, dance, meet friends or make new ones, in the heart of the ancient city! Open daily from 18:00 to about one in the morning, sometimes until 2.
Otto Dieci Music Bar
A small cozy bar with friendly staff and a varied menu is conveniently located in the center of the old town. It is always tight here, there is nowhere for an apple to fall. One of the reasons: affordable prices and a quality menu. The establishment has a summer terrace for warm evenings. The sounds of conversations are heard over the music, which is usually a mixture of Greek and international, depending on the evening.
The audience is mostly local, although visitors from other cities and countries also come in the summer. DJs and other music performers regularly perform here, as well as special events. Otto Dieci has already firmly established itself as one of the best bars in Paphos. Open daily from 11:00 a.m. to approximately 1:30 a.m.
Theaters and cultural centers
Speaking of Paphos, it is worth mentioning museums, galleries, theaters and cultural places, since they are the ones that characterize the city most of all and their number is many times greater than the number of clubs and bars. It's the perfect option to start the evening.
The most popular theater in the city is called Markidio. After a complete renovation, it opened its doors again in 2018. Performances and concerts of the most famous performers of the country are held here.
The Attikon Multicultural Center next to the old town often organizes performances, exhibitions and special film screenings. Also you can pay attention to the events of the modern multidisciplinary creative platform called Technopolis 20. Here you will find art films, jazz concerts, and exhibitions for every taste.
Paphos Luna Park
The small amusement park of the city is distinguished by democratic prices for attractions compared to other cities of the island, but in general you will not see anything new here: a classic Ferris wheel, a Viking ship, trains on rails for the smallest, and machines with toys. However, with children, it’s definitely worth a look here at least once, if you haven’t been yet. The park is located in the Geroskipou area, open from 4 pm to 11 pm.
