On Monday 13 September, the Cyprus Department of the Environment approved Anastasia Tsokkou Estates' application for the construction of a new 4-star hotel in Sotira Municipality (Famagusta District).
According to the release, the developer will erect a 6-storey building with 206 rooms (452 beds). Of these: 173 category "standard" (two beds), 20 family rooms (four beds) and 13 rooms for disabled people (two beds).
The project also includes a reception area, a waiting area, a lobby, a bar, two restaurants for guests, a multipurpose room, toilets, a gym with dressing rooms and utility rooms, a laundry room, canteens, staff rest areas, and an unloading area.
It is expected that the proposed development will have a total of two swimming pools: an outdoor pool for adults and children, and an indoor heated pool with a total capacity of 1410 m3.
In addition, two stadiums and a parking for 112 cars with a total area of 2830 m2 will appear on the territory of the tourist complex.
The plot on which the project will be built has a total area of 15944 m2, of which the hotel block will occupy 3508 m2. Consequently, the total soil coverage will not exceed 20% of the area of the entire site.
The construction site of the new hotel is located on private land, which does not require rent for its operation.
