New details of the investigation of the "gold" passport cases became known on Saturday, January 16.
According to a statement by a member of the Special Committee, he and his colleagues have prepared an interim report, which they intend to submit in early February to the Attorney General of Cyprus.
According to him, the Committee will provide an opinion on at least ten cases on the issuance of passports under the Citizenship by Investment program, which require police intervention and investigation, since they contain criminal offenses.
It should be noted that we are talking not only about naturalizations from 2007 to 2013, as originally announced, but also about cases when citizenship was issued by decree of the current President of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades.
It should be noted that the interim report will be made public, but the names and addresses of investors will be hidden, in accordance with the law on non-disclosure of personal data, as well as in order to reinsure against loss of information.
At the same time, on Tuesday, the media will open discussions in the Investigative Committee of the investment program.
Journalists will witness the testimony of former Finance Minister Harris Georgiades, who will be followed by Archbishop Chrysostom and President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades.
The final results of the investigation are expected to be announced before the May parliamentary elections.
Meanwhile, the Cypriot police have called for another questioning of the British real estate agent, who appears in the scandal with the Qatari edition of Al Jazeera, in order to convince him to provide all the details of the filming and information on the scandalous video.
