Commissioning of the luxurious Radisson Larnaca Beach Resort (formerly Princess Beach Hotel), which was under construction in the Oroklini tourist area, has been delayed for 14 months.
As it turned out, the coronavirus pandemic has not spared even the largest hotel complex in this coastal city. The developer faced a logistics problem - foreign suppliers were delaying the delivery of the necessary materials for the construction of the building. Thus, the dates of delivery of the hotel have shifted because of this.
By the way, it was originally supposed to open in October 2020. But this did not happen - the opening was postponed 3 times.
The CEO of the Sunnyseekers management company, Marios Poliviou, announced that the developer should complete the work by October 2021. If there are no force majeure situations, the hotel will receive its first guests in November 2021.
It is noteworthy that room reservations are already open on the hotel's website. Poliviou noted that the hotel will operate year-round as an all-inclusive resort.
As you may know, the Radisson Beach Resort is actively being built in the Oroklini tourist area, next to the Larnaca-Dhekelia highway.
The 8-storey hotel will have 202 elegantly decorated rooms with bright elements of the Radisson brand. The rooms offer sea and garden views, promising a truly unforgettable experience for her clients.
The hotel will have three restaurants (including a beach bar and restaurant), lounge bars, conference rooms, and a range of fitness and entertainment facilities. The Radisson Larnaca Beach Resort will be operated by Sunnyseeker Hotels, one of the leading hotel management companies in Cyprus.
Our hotel will bring quality tourism to Larnaca, which currently does not exist here. The data shows that we have had a good tourist season this year. In any case, the indicators are much better than last year. However, we are still lagging behind in the number of bookings from 2019. The local hospitality industry still has a long way to go to reach pre-pandemic levels, Poliviou said.
It should be noted that the Radisson Beach Resort will be the third hotel of the group in Cyprus and will complement the recently opened Radisson Blu Hotel in Larnaca.
Radisson intends to attract tourists with the chain's traditional Scandinavian hospitality, with a full range of high-quality services.
According to the project, next to the new hotel, a pedestrian embankment and a path connecting Dhekelia Street with the beach will be reconstructed. The reconstruction of the road is a kind of compensation to the Oroklini municipality, which the hotel owners have pledged to pay for the construction of the luxury building. The public area on the beach will also be equipped with new lighting, a sports park and green spaces.
