Construction of the first resort village for retirees has begun in Cyprus.
The project, called Lazaris Mill, will be located in the village of Tsada near Paphos. Its cost is estimated at about 16 million euros.
According to the release, houses with 82 apartments (from studios to 3-bedroom apartments) and a hotel with 24 rooms will appear in the gated community. Each apartment has a veranda, and outside there is a terrace and a barbecue area. Also, each block will be equipped with underground parking and storage rooms. It is planned that 120 - 140 people will live in the village.
The project was designed by the renowned Cypriot architect Vangelis Mavronicolas. The village is being built by Cyprevico Ltd.
All properties at Lazaris Mill will be built and finished to the highest standards using excellent quality materials. Kitchens and bathrooms will be equipped with elegant high quality fixtures. Those who decide to buy apartments under construction will have the opportunity to work with an experienced architect to personalize the interior for themselves.
In addition to all the obvious advantages, the village provides for low operating costs for retirees.
Each house will be highly energy efficient and the apartment will have underfloor heating, excellent insulation and double glazing. This will not only reduce the negative impact on the environment, but also minimize energy costs.
Residents of the complex will be able to count on first-class services. For the convenience of residents, the most comfortable and modern infrastructure will be created. A cafe, restaurant, bar, pharmacy, shop and food delivery will appear on the territory of the village. A minibus will run into the city once a day.
Taking into account the fact that some residents may have special needs, the houses will not have steps, it will be possible to get to the apartments on the 2nd floor by elevator. The corridors and doorways will be wide.
Of course, the village intends to pay special attention to medical care. As the authors of the project emphasize, although this is not a nursing home, if necessary, residents will have access to round-the-clock medical supervision of the Evangelismos private hospital in Paphos. And thanks to the GESY national healthcare system, Cypriot citizens and residents who are eligible for its services will not need to worry about the cost of medical care.
It is noteworthy that future tenants will enter into a lease agreement with the developer company for 99 years on tough conditions, ensuring the preservation of the project in the form of a settlement for retirees.
The heirs will be able to settle in the property only if they are 60 years old. Otherwise, they will be able to rent it to people of a suitable age.
The cost of apartments in Lazaris Mill starts from 110 thousand euros. The village will be commissioned in 2023.
By the way, aging Cypriots often go abroad because they do not understand how to arrange a comfortable life on the island. Villages for retirees exist in many other countries, but this will be the first experience for Cyprus.
Lazaris Mill is the first of three retirement villages planned by Cyprevico Ltd in Paphos. The second object will appear in Kouklia, and the third - also in Tsada.
First of all, the project is aimed at immigrants who have been living in Cyprus for many years. It should be noted that potential buyers are showing great interest in this project. Lazaris Mill's apartment purchase requests are received on a weekly basis.
