Cyprus has a huge number of resorts for recreation.

If you ask a person who just visited Cyprus to tell you about their impressions, they will tell you about the boundless cloudless sky, the sun, beaches and clear blue water, about entertainment, attractions and a high level of comfort. It doesn't even matter which of the many Cypriot resorts they visited.

Cyprus (being a small country) is a large resort, you can point your finger at any place on the map and you will unmistakably find either a mountain or a seaside resort. Also remember that the distance from any place in Cyprus to the sea is about an hour.

But let's focus on the resorts of the coastline. Cyprus is the third largest and largest island with kilometers of beautiful beaches, excellent hotels with high service and delicious Greek cuisine.

Top 5 Cypriot resorts

1. Limassol

Limassol tourists choose calm family holidays. The infrastructure is developed here, everything is oriented for those who are from three to seven years old, and the large sandy beaches are very comfortable. Thanks to the breakwaters, the sea is gentle and calm.

Limassol is not just a large amusement park, as it might seem at first glance, but also a modern, booming port city and business center, so tourist activity here does not stop here throughout the year. It is designed not only for children under 16, but also for older children (40+). Because on vacation everyone feels a bit like a child.

In Limassol, you can always find something to do. Boutiques for the most fastidious shoppers who hold constant sales, beaches for every taste and walks along the embankments. For children, there are a water park and numerous attractions and activities throughout the city, exciting games in the city park and in special institutions for creativity and early development of the child.

A night spent in one of the entertainment venues in the second largest city of Cyprus will not be forgotten for a long time. Moreover, you can look after the place for every person, there are youth raves, and quite respectable clubs for respectable men and women “with requests”.

In Limassol there is the main port of the republic, many museums and ancient monuments of architecture. This is a great place for an educational sightseeing holiday!

The Limassol embankment deserves our special mention. Stylish design, numerous fountains and art objects, sculptures, benches, a parapet and cafeterias put it on a par with the most famous promenades in the world.

And of course, even briefly talking about the resort, one cannot fail to mention its beaches. There are many for every taste. Some of them are marked with "blue flags", even those who have not received this international quality mark are no worse. For example, Dasoudi and the Governor's beaches have Blue Flags. The first is distinguished by a wonderful eucalyptus grove growing in close proximity to the coastline, the second is distinguished by light rocks and dark volcanic sand.

Among the beaches worthy of mention is Lady's Mile - considered by many to be the "best beach" of Limassol. It is located on a sandy and pebbly spit that stretches 7 kilometers into the sea, where you can find places with developed beach infrastructure and conditions for swimming, diving and snorkeling, or you can find an almost wild area for solitude and silence.

Kourion is a beach outside the city limits and is known far beyond the borders of Cyprus as a great place for a family holiday.

2. Paphos

Paphos is the splendor of Cypriot luxury. Beach luxury resort in the south-west of the island, the focus of luxury 5-star hotels and fashionable restaurants marked with Michelin stars (it is almost impossible to find hotels with less than 4 * here). The city and its environs are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Antiquities here will surround you at every step and fill your holiday with a flair of antiquity.

Paphos has all the conditions for a leisurely, relaxing holiday: beautiful landscapes, picturesque bays and many secluded places. Hotels offer travelers a wide range of services and impeccable service. 5-star hotels, boutiques of the most famous brands, a full range of travel services, high-class service, but of course, as elsewhere in Cyprus, a Blue Flag beach holiday.

Do not forget that Aphrodite was born somewhere in the local waves (there are other versions, but it is better not to tell the locals about this). However, after relaxing on the local beaches and walking along the ancient streets of the city, you will not have a shadow of a doubt that it is here that the small homeland of the goddess of love is located.

Paphos is a place of rest for respectable people, the city is not focused on vacations with the whole family. The hotels also have few activities for the little ones, almost no animation programs or playgrounds. But here you can relax in every sense of the "beautiful" - there is everything you need for this.

The city can be speculatively divided into two parts: upper and lower. In the first one there are administrative and commercial centers, the mayor's office. In the second - the majority of city hotels, boutiques, nightclubs, architectural monuments.

All tourist sites in the city can be reached by public transport, even for wealthy people it is convenient - it will not take more than 10 minutes to wait for a bus during the high tourist season.

3. Larnaca

Larnaca is the most democratic holiday option in Cyprus. The resort is European with clean beaches, infrastructure and services, but at the same time it is the most affordable resort for family holidays in terms of housing, food and entertainment prices. The city is simple enough for a beach resort, but important, since Larnaca is also the industrial and commercial center of Cyprus.

Facilities for family unpretentious tourists, since the road from the airport to the hotel will not take more than 20 minutes - the main Cypriot airport is located almost in the city. At the same time, entertainment tours are cheaper here than in any other resort in Cyprus. There are many souvenir shops and shopping centers.

Logistics is the most convenient, thanks to the developed transport infrastructure. In addition, staying in Larnaca is the most convenient way to travel around the island. The city has an expensive taxi, but a democratic and convenient bike rental service.

Meanwhile, in Larnaca there is something to see, as anywhere in Cyprus, there are both natural and archaeological attractions. Wide choice of hotels. Accommodation in a hotel can cost both 30 and 450 euros per day.

This is the third largest and one of the oldest cities in the southern part of Cyprus. Russian speech is not uncommon here. There are a lot of our compatriots in Larnaca.

The resort of Larnaca has boundless beaches with a convenient descent into the water, comfortable hotels, European-level service, cozy restaurants, taverns and cafes, with the widest range of dishes from freshly caught fish.

All the main coasts of the resort have been awarded the Blue Flag. The total length of the coastline is 25 km. The most famous beaches of Larnaca are Finikoudes, Mackenzie and Faros. Larnaca has the largest number of diving centers.

4. Ayia Napa

The resort capital of Cyprus is undoubtedly Ayia Napa. Moreover, this city can be safely called a resort for the Cypriots themselves, who come here for diving and nightlife. Ayia Napa is called the "local Ibiza" for a reason. A variety of clubs, bars and beach discos make this city the Mecca of club and beach holidays.

Ayia Napa was built by the Byzantines, although it is quite difficult to judge the resort service of those times, but undoubtedly the local beaches attracted rich nobles here. In season, Ayia Napa never sleeps. Most of the nightclubs are located in the Club District, it is simply unrealistic to go around them all overnight. Cocktail prices start from 5 euros.

Ayia Napa will also be interesting for gourmets. There are many democratic local taverns and large restaurants known far beyond the borders of Cyprus. The choice for tourists, both local cuisine and popular world cuisine - Greek, Italian, Mexican, Oriental.

Despite the fact that Ayia Napa is not considered a family and children's resort, you can safely go here with the whole family, the children will definitely not be bored. Water park, amusement park, dinosaur park and dolphinarium - this is not a complete list of places that children will be delighted with.

In addition to nightlife in Ayia Napa, tourists are attracted by beach activities. Here rest for beach gourmets. You can find both secluded places for couples and lively beaches, where tourists can be offered a variety of fishing, rent a yacht, boat, boat or catamaran, surfers come here even in winter, and there are conditions for diving and snorkeling, both for professionals and for newbies.

The coastline is well-equipped: locker rooms, showers, toilets, medical aid stations work.

The beaches are sandy with a gentle entry into the water. The most famous coast is Nissi Beach. In the high season in Cyprus (May-September) it is very crowded here. After sunset, parties begin, which stop at lunchtime.

5. Protaras

Protaras is perhaps the most picturesque place in Cyprus. A small fishing village, which is known far beyond the island, is located only 8 kilometers from Ayia Napa, but has its own unique character.

The resort counts its history from antiquity, and has managed to maintain its uniqueness. Light, almost white fine sand, a minimum of skyscrapers, color and clear blue sea - Protaras is magnificent!

There are no nightclubs, discos, noise and youth festivities until the morning, but there are antiquities, landscapes that are created by nature, as if specially for painters and photographers.

The main architectural and historical attraction of Protaras - the Church of St. Elijah the Prophet is located in the very center of the village, the church was built in the 14th century and stands at an elevation of 115 meters above sea level. This is one of the few Gothic examples in Cyprus.

Inside there are Byzantine paintings, a wooden altar, and frescoes. From here you have a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea!

The visiting card of the resort is a free beach in Fig Tree Bay. One of the best places to stay with kids! There is a gentle entrance to the water, clean sea water, fine sand and a well-developed infrastructure. Nearby is a large fig grove.

Protaras is a small resort. Many tourists do not use transport at all, but walk from one end of the village to the other.

Finding accommodation in Protaras is easy. There are good options here for budget travelers. This Cypriot resort is a paradise for gourmets. In cozy little taverns, of which there are dozens, they prepare excellent dishes of Cypriot cuisine, the main component of which is freshly caught fish.
