The Geroskipou Municipality has signed a contract for the second phase of a major project to upgrade the coastal area in Paphos. The cost of the works exceeds €1 million, and the reconstruction is expected to be completed within seven months.
The agreement was signed by Mayor Nikos Palios and Panath Construction Ltd representative Socrates Themistokleous. The project is considered one of the region’s key infrastructure upgrades and aims to enhance the tourist and promenade zone along the Paphos coastline.
What Will Change on the Geroskipou Seafront
As part of the second phase, the coastal pedestrian route from the Phaethon Hotel to the Athena Royal Hotel will be fully renovated. The reconstruction will also include the connecting pedestrian path on the border between the municipalities of Paphos and Geroskipou.
The project includes modern landscaping of public spaces, new greenery, resurfacing works, improved lighting, and the creation of a more comfortable environment for residents and visitors. Authorities expect the upgraded promenade to become another popular walking destination on the coast of Cyprus.

Investment in the Development of the Paphos Coastline
The total contract value amounts to €1.081 million excluding VAT. The project is funded with support from the THALEIA 2021–2027 regional development programme, which focuses on modernising urban infrastructure and improving the quality of public spaces across Cyprus.
In recent years, Paphos and Geroskipou have been actively investing in tourism infrastructure. The area attracts both foreign property buyers and tourists thanks to new residential developments, well-maintained beaches, and a modern urban environment.
Real estate experts note that the renovation of promenades and public spaces directly increases the attractiveness of the area for investors and tourists. Once the works are completed, property values in the coastal part of Geroskipou may continue to rise, especially amid strong demand for homes near the sea.
The project also supports Paphos’ sustainable development strategy, under which authorities are focusing on comfortable urban infrastructure, environmentally friendly landscaping, and the promotion of year-round tourism.
