Investors continue to invest in the development of Platres.
According to Panayiotis Papadopoulos, head of the Platres Village Council, the mountain village, which is located at the foot of the Troodoos Mountains, is actively buying and renovating old and abandoned hotels, as well as building new complexes and luxury villas. Thanks to this, Platres is transforming from an abandoned village into a major tourist center. The promotion of various residential projects in Platres improves the image of the village, creates new jobs, and consequently provides an influx of population.
Among the largest projects that are currently underway in the village Panayiotis singled out GURU Mountain Hill Resort.
The residential complex is being built next to the children's rope park "Sparti". The project includes: a hotel, villas and bungalows. The height of the 7-storey hotel will be 16.15 meters above the first floor level. It will include a lobby, restaurant, bar and café, Bottega store, children's play area, lounge, traditional barbecue area, 2-level parking for 182 cars, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, gym, Turkish bath and sauna. Houses and duplex bungalows with enchanting mountain views will be located separately from the main building and will combine modern and ultra-modern design. For those looking for a property with the same quality, elegance and magnificent views but with a smaller budget, the resort will offer studios and apartments that are provided above the main building.
Papadopoulos also noted that villagers are looking forward to the start of the massive Tree Hotel project, which is currently under review by the Cyprus Department of Environmental Protection. According to the release, the retreat hotel will have 58 rooms and bungalows with a total area of 1.9 thousand m2. The project will also include: a spa center with a gym, locker rooms, indoor pool and rooms for massage, yoga and spa treatments, a restaurant with an indoor lounge and outdoor area with a bar parking lot with 48 parking spaces.
Papadopoulos emphasized that in the last 2 years Platres has renovated a number of hotels that are successfully operating, attracting not only locals but also tourists. Among them are: Petit Palais, Kallithea, Semiramis, Forest Park and New Helvetia Hotel. In addition, the Pendeli Hotel is currently being renovated in the village and is expected to open its doors by the end of the year.
Another major project that will transform Platres will be the renovation of Splendid. The application is in its final stages. Splendid is expected to combine a unique design intertwined with the natural landscape. According to the plan, following the natural slope of the mountain, several levels of the hotel will sort of cut into it.
Among the most iconic projects is also Greenwood. The new residential complex, which is in the process of development, will consist of 19 luxury two-storey villas. One of the main advantages of this project will be the presence of huge terraces with panoramic views of the mountain peaks drowning in greenery. Spacious kitchens, large living rooms, cozy bedrooms, comfortable bathrooms, high ceilings - these are some of the advantages of luxury homes in Greenwood.
Finally, Papadopoulos recalled the recent deal with the historic Forest Park Hotel. It was bought by the brokerage company XM, which intends to invest 15 million euros in the hotel.
Thus, soon the number of places to accommodate vacationers in the Platres area will increase significantly, and with it the popularity of the region.
