YN Antoniades & Sons has announced its intention to build a state-of-the-art dairy plant in Pissouri (Limassol district).
The company recently submitted an application to the Cyprus Environment Ministry.
According to the release, the project will focus on the production and marketing of traditional Cypriot cheese products, including Halloumi and Anari. The production facility will be built on a 13,044m2 plot and will have a ground floor with a mezzanine. For the convenience of employees and customers, there will be a parking area for 13 cars, some of which will be reserved for people with disabilities.
It is worth mentioning that Antoniades is one of the oldest livestock farms in Cyprus, founded in 1929. Today it specialises in the breeding of Shami goats and Chios sheep and has a customer base of over 10,000 regular customers. The new factory will be a logical continuation of the family's almost century-long history and an important contribution to the development of the agro-industrial sector in Cyprus.

The architectural design was developed by Zenonos & Zenonos Architects.
The maximum processing capacity of the new plant will be up to 5,000 litres of milk per day, equivalent to the production of approximately 600 kg of halloumi. The complex will cover an area of approximately 9,221 m2, with an impressive 11.5 thousand m2 of green space, underlining the ecological approach of the project.
The new plant building will house:
- A milk reception centre;
- 4 loading and unloading bays;
- 11 parking spaces + 2 for disabled drivers;
- A production area of 1,764 m2;
- Administrative premises - 385.4 m2;
- offices on the mezzanine floor - 404.5 m2.
Milk is delivered to the plant by tanker truck and directly into storage tanks. It will then be processed in several stages. Construction will start after obtaining all necessary permits and will take approximately 12 months. The preliminary cost of the project is approximately 2.5 million euros. According to company officials, the construction will not only create additional jobs in the region, but will also provide an important production base for the export of Cypriot halloumi and anari to the international market.
