By 2023, the village of Platres will be radically transformed.
As it turned out, huge investments have been made in this region over the past year. New resort projects will appear here soon, there will also be large modernization of old hotels and small leisure enterprises.
Thus, the Department of Environment is currently considering an application from the DTA Group regarding the construction and operation of a new residential complex GURU Mountain Hill Resort.
The project provides for the construction of a 7-storey hotel, villas and bungalows. The height of the hotel will be 16.15 m above the ground floor level. It will include a lobby, restaurant, bar and cafe, Bottega store, children's play area, living room, traditional barbecue area, 2-level parking for 182 cars, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, gym, Turkish bath and sauna.
The houses and duplex bungalows with enchanting mountain views will be located separately from the main building and will combine modern and ultramodern design. For those looking for a property with the same quality, elegance and great views, but on a lower budget, the resort will offer studios and apartments, which are foreseen above the main building.
Another ambitious project is the Tree Hotel retreat hotel. It provides:
- 58 rooms and bungalows with a total area of 1905 m2.
- Spa center (679 sq. M) with gym, changing rooms, indoor pool and rooms for massage, yoga and spa treatments.
- Restaurant with indoor hall and outdoor area with a bar with a total area of 488 m2.
- Relaxation room (66 m2).
- 48 parking spaces.
- Underground biological wastewater treatment plant (100 m2).
Property Gallery will be engaged in the construction of the hotel. The Tree Hotel is expected to help attract local and foreign tourists to the Platres mountain resort, enrich the tourism industry in Cyprus and provide jobs for the villagers. The project is designed to preserve as much pine and cedar as possible.
Local investors are also showing great interest in the development of the village.
PHC recently acquired the Mount Royal Hotel. Another hotel called Minerva was also sold to a Cypriot buyer. Both hotels are currently undergoing renovations. In addition, the Kallithea Du Chocolat building (18 seats) has been leased. The new owner intends to turn it into a boutique hotel.
The Penteli Hotel was recently put up for sale and the Splendid was sold and renovations have begun. Finally, one of the most famous hotels in the area, Forest Park, continues to operate successfully. The municipality plans to create a museum in the village. Work has begun on the construction of a multi-level parking lot for 232 cars and 10 buses.
