The Cyprus Department of Environment has received an application for the construction of a new large-scale hospital in Nicosia.
The building is expected to appear on a 335,000 m2 plot at the intersection of Griva Digeni and Agiou Prokopiou avenues. The development rate of land is 140% and coverage is 30% of the net area of the property, minus the road network and open public spaces.
The building site belongs to the Kykkos Monastery.
By the way, earlier an application was submitted from them with a request to divide the land in this area, which is in his possession into 8 equal parts for subsequent development. The monastery stated that after obtaining the appropriate permits, various projects will be implemented on the divided sites, which include commercial, tourist and residential facilities, as well as a recreation area. In particular, one of them will be a new clinic.

According to the release, the project involves the construction of an 8-storey building. It will be equipped with:
- doctors' offices,
- operating rooms,
- waiting areas,
- first aid station,
- patient rooms,
- intensive care unit,
- endoscopy department,
- department of hemodialysis,
- department of cardiology,
- hydromassage department,
- department of physiotherapy.
In addition, for the convenience of visitors to the medical institution, a spacious parking lot and a park with green spaces will be equipped. The hospital will join the GESY's system.
In addition to Cypriot doctors, foreigners will be recruited to work in the new hospital. In particular, specialists from Israel and other countries of the region. The monastery has no plans to sell the land on which the clinic will be built. According to some information, it will be leased to an investor for long-term use.
