A few years ago, mobile internet in Cyprus left much to be desired: locals were understanding of the slow connection, while tourists were outraged. In 2026, the situation with mobile communication has become much better: progress does not stand still, and the island is trying to keep up with the times. Below, all internet usage options will be considered: home and mobile packages, an overview of telecom operators, and recommendations for tourists.
Home internet in Cyprus
Connecting to local providers allows you to get the highest internet speed, which is extremely important for people working online. Some operators cover the entire Republic of Cyprus, while others are available only in certain cities.
Cyta
The oldest telecom operator, which provides not only home but also mobile internet, telephony services, television, and more. It is available in all cities in Cyprus, which is why it is considered the most popular provider. The company’s prices are quite reasonable (you will need to pay extra for connection/tariff plan upgrade).

Tip! Cyta offers discounts for large families, people with special needs, and those who are already connected.
Epic
Also a recognizable “all-Cyprus” provider. It has fewer tariff plans; in 2026 there are four of them: three unlimited and one with metered billing. The latter implies a small subscription fee (from €3) and a charge based on the number of GB of data.

PrimeTel
A relatively new provider of home internet and mobile communications. The most favorable rates are intended for users of all PrimeTel services (mobile internet + home internet + television). There are separate offers for sports fans: the package includes high-quality online broadcasts. Main home internet with television tariffs in Cyprus:

AlphaNet
A provider in Limassol and the suburbs, positioning itself as the first to offer symmetrical internet.
Reference! Symmetrical internet connection is one in which the upload and download speeds are the same.
There are tariffs with low speed and with high speed. Both look more expensive than Cyta or PrimeTel, but connection and equipment installation are completely free.

Tariffs at the beginning of 2026:
Cablenet
Not available in all localities of Cyprus, but it stands out for good speed and low tariffs. In 2026, this is the only provider offering the first few months completely free (you only need to pay a connection fee). There are 4 tariffs, two of which include payment for the HBO Max streaming service:

Cosmos Wireless
It mainly covers the eastern part of the island, but is also available in major cities (availability of connection needs to be clarified). It is valued by users for the absence of anything unnecessary (only unlimited internet without television and telephony) at clear prices — which, by the way, have not increased since 2021.

Mobile internet in Cyprus for regular use
All the operators mentioned above also provide mobile communication. It is cheapest to combine home and mobile internet by buying a package at once. But some people prefer different providers.
Cyta
It covers almost the entire territory of Cyprus (meaning the Republic of Cyprus), which is why it is considered the most reliable mobile internet with a local SIM card.
The tariffs are quite diverse and easy to adapt to your needs: from €10 with limited internet allowances (500 min, 500 SMS, 50 GB) to €32.8 for full unlimited access at the highest speeds.
Epic
Cheaper tariffs than Cyta, with 5G coverage as well. There are only three tariffs, but within Cyprus they start from just €20 per month.

Cablenet
Only two tariffs, and both are unlimited. But the prices are pleasantly surprising: only €15 per month in Cyprus. The more expensive tariff plan from this mobile operator is intended for those planning to travel around Europe.

PrimeTel
Another option for those interested only in unlimited access. It offers three tariffs for newcomers, and one of them is interesting for travelers: it includes 3 GB/month abroad in 30 non-European countries.
Tip! Many of the tariffs presented above (for both mobile and home communication) apply when signing a long-term contract, for example, for 2 years.

Mobile communication and internet for tourists
Tourists arriving in Cyprus are not always satisfied with hotel wi-fi: sometimes they want to stay connected all the time. For internet outside the home, there are options with an eSIM or a local physical SIM card. Each option has its pros and cons.
Physical SIM card
It is good because it can be connected with any mobile operator and to any tariff. Special offers are always available for tourists: you can visit a connection point, and a consultant will tell you which package is currently valid and beneficial for temporary use.
However, the disadvantages of a plastic SIM card have become quite numerous:
- you need to connect it with a passport and with physical presence, and provider offices in Cyprus do not work in the evening/night or on weekends;
- it cannot be purchased in advance in your own country;
- it is needed only for a short time, and then it can be thrown away;
- without a special pin, replacing one SIM card with another is very problematic, especially “on the go”: at the airport, etc.
- it is problematic to top up the account with Russian cards.
Progress has recently come to Cyprus as well, so tourists often prefer a virtual SIM to a regular one.
Virtual eSIM card
In Cyprus, every mobile provider has eSIM, but not for all tariffs. Also, calls and SMS cannot always be used. Perhaps the disadvantages end there, and the advantages of using eSIM are undeniable:
- you can download it in advance, and then connect to the internet on site via a QR code;
- there is no need to search for and visit an operator’s office, you can connect even outside working hours;
- you can use tariffs of not Cypriot but European operators (see below);
- there is no need to struggle to remove and change SIM cards, and then throw away unnecessary plastic;
- you can pay with Russian cards.
Important! Your device must support eSIM technology.

Mobile communication in the EU
There is no roaming between Cyprus and the EU, so when connecting an eSIM, you can choose not a Cypriot but another operator. In addition, there are special providers that specialize in this type of connection. For example:
- Yesim — a Swiss company with coverage in more than 200 destinations and daily billing;
- Airalo service offers not only internet, but also calls/SMS;
- Unisim — can be topped up with Russian MIR cards, covers more than 170 countries, and charges only for used internet traffic.
Another option is international SIM cards, which can be obtained in the usual physical or digital format (the same eSIM). They are convenient because they can be ordered and topped up in advance and used in different countries. Examples:
- Drimsim — offers inexpensive communication in 190 countries of the world, including Cyprus;
- TourSIM — covers more than 100 countries of the world and charges only for used megabytes.
Mobile communication from “home” operators
It is not always profitable to buy a local SIM card, especially if the stay in the country is limited to 2–3 days. Russian operators charge quite a lot for internet use or calls in roaming, but this may still turn out to be more выгодно than overpaying for a weekly or monthly package of local communication.
For short trips (up to 3 days) and using mobile internet within 1 GB in 2026, the most выгодные are the offers from MTS and Beeline.

For long-term residence in Cyprus, it is better to use local or international (including European) mobile operators. Home internet is beneficial if you need to work, play, or watch movies constantly. For a short stay on the island, it is best to choose an eSIM format with an international/European “connection” or a roaming package from a Russian operator.
