On Monday, April 1, the developer company shared news from the construction site.
In particular, MHV Group CEO Haris Michael said that the renovation of the hotel building and the erection of two new towers are proceeding according to the established schedule. In addition, he shared a photo of the new spa and indoor wellness center that will operate at The Landmark Nicosia. The interior design of the legendary hotel was developed by the world-renowned Dutch creative studioD/DOCK in collaboration with the architectural firm of Iraklis Papachristou.
The modern, highly aesthetic spa will be an oasis of relaxation and care focused on providing a wide range of treatments by experienced therapists, with seven treatment rooms, a room exclusively for Thai massage, a relaxation room and a wellness center. Earthy tones will be combined with recessed lighting to create an atmosphere that exudes tranquility.
High-quality materials will echo charming decorative details and contemporary furnishings in a cozy setting of minimal luxury. The state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center will be complemented by a 75 m2 indoor pool, Juice bar, 250 m2 restaurant, fully equipped gym and yoga and Pilates room. The adjacent wellness center features a sauna, steam bath, ice fountain, contrast shower, and relaxation area.
By approaching the Cypriot tradition and heritage of the hotel from a modern perspective, the new facilities go beyond functionality and aesthetics, promote health and holistic wellbeing and reflect the unique, authentic yet cosmopolitan character of The Landmark Nicosia," said Michael.
The flagship project is located at one of the most central points of the Cypriot capital, marking the entrance to the city center.
Two new skyscrapers are being erected on the site of the parking lot of The Landmark Hotel (former Hilton). The site is on an elevated position. Due to this, the towers will stand out favorably against the background of other nearby buildings, as well as visible from all corners of the city.
The 17-story residential high-rise will have 53 apartments, and the 16-story commercial building will have modern offices. Both residential and commercial skyscrapers will have underground two-level parking lots. The modern and innovative architectural design of the buildings will reflect the individuality and scale of the project, making it a real landmark of the city.
In addition to the construction of the high-rises, the renovation of the main building of the hotel is going on in parallel. The hotel is reconstructing the first floor and mezzanine, building a new swimming pool of 180 m2, two restaurants of 230 m2 and 210 m2 respectively, as well as a café of 32 m2 and a bar of 150 m2.
The reconstruction project also includes the creation of an underground and surface parking lot for 419 parking spaces. During the works, the walls on the first floor of the hotel building have already been demolished to allow the necessary changes to be made. The total area of the demolished areas amounted to about 1450 m2, while the total area of the areas where the renovation works are being carried out is 1352 m2.
The total cost of the project is estimated at more than €100 million.
As expected, with the appearance of skyscrapers, the value of the neighborhood will increase several times. It should be noted that the international hotel chain Marriott takes part in the realization of the grandiose project. According to preliminary data, the renovated hotel will open its doors to guests at the end of 2024, and the elite high-rises will be delivered in 2025.
