On Monday, 12 May, Central Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic published a report on interest rates for loans and deposits.
The month of March 2025 was chosen as the final month.
It seems that the average floating mortgage rate has increased by up to 4.25% from 4.24% the month before. In March 2025, the Bank of Cyprus offered the lowest interest rates in this category, with a rate of 5.24% compared to 5.42% in February. They carried on:
- Société Générale's shares fell by 4.72%, compared to a 5.13% fall in the previous period.
- Eurobank increased its rate by 4.58%, whereas its competitor increased theirs by 3.84%.
- Astrobank's share is 3.97% compared to 3.18% for the other company.
- CDB Bank's rate is 3.96% compared to 1.55% for the other bank.
- The Housing Finance Organization is 3.64% against 3.65%.
- Ancoria Bank — 3.71% compared to 3.25%.
- Hellenic Bank's rate is 2.5% compared to 3.45% elsewhere.
The interest rate for loans with a term of up to one year for individuals in euros has fallen from an average of 1.51% in February to 1.41% in March.
The most favourable conditions for the population were offered by Eurobank (1.88%), National Bank of Greece (1.61%), CDB Bank (1.3%), Ancoria Bank (1.21%), Hellenic Bank (1.09%) and Alpha Bank Cyprus (1.07%). Bank of Cyprus (0.93%) and Astrobank (0.92%) were the least profitable. All the banks mentioned above have seen a drop in interest rates compared to February 2025, except for Eurobank, where rates have increased.
Even though the average interest rate on credit cards in March stayed the same, some banks did change their rates. When you apply for a student loan, it's really important to choose the right lender. On the other hand, the amount of money people can bet has been going up for several months. This is making it less profitable for people who invest in banks.
