The main competition for leadership in the number of luxury hotels is unfolding between Paphos and Ayia Napa together with other resorts in the free part of Famagusta.
In the Paphos district there are thirteen 5-star hotels, and in the free areas of Famagusta — twelve. Limassol follows slightly behind, where eight high-class hotels are concentrated. In Larnaca and Nicosia there are two such properties each.
Tourism market analysts note that the growth in the number of premium hotels is linked to increasing demand for luxury holidays, especially from tourists from Europe, the Middle East, and CIS countries.
