The Cyprus Department of Environmental Protection stated that according to the data provided by the developer it is clear that the construction and operation of the project will not have a significant negative impact on the area. According to the initiators of the project, it will help attract local and foreign tourists to the Platres Mountain Resort, enrich the tourism industry in Cyprus and provide jobs for the villagers. The project is designed to preserve as many pine and cedar trees as possible.
As a reminder, Platres is claiming to be the new pearl of mountainous Cyprus.
Currently, huge sums of money are being invested in the development of the village. Some investors are actively buying out and reconstructing old and abandoned hotels, while others are busy building new complexes and luxury villas.
