The Cyprus Ministry of Tourism published an updated registry of hotel facilities on the island, reflecting the sector's steady growth.
According to the ministry, 274 hotels are currently operating in Cyprus, offering 31,843 rooms and 62,959 beds. These figures are higher than last year's, when Cyprus had 268 hotels with 30,493 rooms and 62,340 beds.
The island has a total of thirty-seven five-star hotels. The free areas of Famagusta and Paphos are tied for first place in terms of the number of luxury hotels. Famagusta has thirteen five-star hotels, ten of which are in the popular resort town of Ayia Napa and three in the neighboring coastal town of Paralimni. Paphos has twelve five-star hotels, eleven of which are in the city itself and one in the picturesque Polis Chrysochous.
Despite slightly lower figures, Limassol remains one of the flagships of premium tourism, offering nine first-class hotels, many of which line the coast and cater to wealthy guests.
Larnaca has a more modest presence in the premium segment with only two five-star hotels. This is in line with the region's more restrained and traditional style of tourism development.
As the administrative and business capital, Nicosia has only one five-star hotel geared towards business travelers and official delegations rather than beach vacations.
Overall, Cyprus's luxury hotel infrastructure is steadily developing, with the main concentration of luxury properties remaining in coastal areas, which are traditionally oriented toward mass and premium tourism.
