The long-awaited tender for the construction of a new marina in Paphos should be launched no later than December 2024.
This was announced the other day by the Chairman of the Paphos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yorgos Mais.
He stressed that the authorized persons have started reviewing the applications for consultancy services for the project, which were received by the Ministry of Tourism. Mais emphasized the important role of the project in enriching the city's tourism product. He also noted that the new Paphos marina will contribute to the development of maritime tourism, improving the quality of service to tourists and at the same time will support other marinas throughout Cyprus. Finally, he mentioned the need to create a network of marinas to serve tourists traveling by sea.

On December 22, the Cypriot Ministry of Tourism announced the closing of bids for consultancy services related to the preparation and launch of the tender for the construction of a new marina in Paphos. A total of three bids were received. The winner is expected to be announced in the coming months.
It is worth mentioning that the Cabinet approved the construction of a marina in Paphos back in February 2023.
At the same time, a number of changes were made to the original project. In addition to parking places for yachts, repair shop, cafes, restaurants and boutiques in the marina of Paphos decided to build a berth for luxury yachts and cruise ships with a length of no more than 220 meters, as well as a hotel and residential complexes. According to the idea, the Paphos marina, which will be the fifth in Cyprus, will strengthen the position of the island state as a major international shipping hub. About 250 million euros will be allocated for the project. Of this: 100 million euros will be spent on port facilities and approximately 150 million euros on site development.
