In Limassol, intensive work continues on the modernisation of the Spyros Kyprianou Stadium, which will host the FIBA EuroBasket 2025.
On Monday 28 April, A&A Apostolides announced that all major phases of the project are almost complete.
In particular, modern flooring has been laid in the stadium, the changing rooms have been completely renovated, the outdoor courts have been upgraded, a new video surveillance system has been installed, the acoustics in the sports facility have been significantly improved and the electrical wiring has been upgraded.
At the same time, work is being completed on the creation of interceptor car parks and the installation of new basketball rings. The installation of furniture to ensure maximum comfort for participants and spectators has begun. The project also includes the installation of giant LED screens, new stands and modern lighting, which will create a unique atmosphere for the games of the upcoming championship. All construction and installation work is expected to be completed ahead of the original schedule - by mid-May 2025, to allow time for testing and final adjustments.
The entire reconstruction of the stadium is expected to be completed by 1 July 2025. A&A Apostolides is strictly adhering to the agreed deadlines, focusing on high quality workmanship and striving to achieve the first-class results that have traditionally characterised its projects.
The aim of A&A Apostolides is not just to carry out renovations, but to create an infrastructure facility that will be a legacy for Cypriot sport for years to come and contribute to the development of sports tourism on the island. Once the project is completed, the life of the Spyros Kyprianou Stadium will be significantly extended by at least 20 years, thanks to the use of advanced construction technologies, high quality materials and a comprehensive approach to modernisation.
