The Cyprus Public Health Service (Okypy) announced the start of the second phase of the renovation of the Paphos Central Hospital.
In this context, a contract was signed for the research, construction, and 12-year maintenance of the hospital.
According to the authority, the obstetrics gynecology, and pediatric departments will soon be modernized in the main medical facility of the city.
In particular, the first one will be equipped with comfortable maternity rooms with modern equipment, wards, and rooms for newborn care and women's consultation. The second department will be completely renovated and adapted to the needs of patients with disabilities.
The project to renovate the existing facilities and create new ones at Paphos General Hospital will be realized in the second quarter of 2024. The total cost is estimated at €5.8 million, of which €1.5 million has been allocated by the EU.
The Pafos General Hospital is the largest and best-equipped hospital in the county. Once the renovation project is completed, it will be able to provide even better medical services and improve patient care.

It should be noted that a new state-of-the-art hemodialysis unit opened last week at Paphos General Hospital.
The new unit, renovated according to European standards, can accommodate up to 27 hemodialysis stations and is staffed by qualified medical personnel. A spacious new building has been constructed to the east of the existing Paphos Hospital to meet the needs of the department. The construction was part of a major renovation project at the hospital.
