The Limassol City Council decided at a recent meeting to reduce taxes, fees, permits, and rent on all businesses that have had to suspend their operations due to the pandemic.
A relevant announcement states that the reductions concern the fees for garbage (with the exception of residential estates), the rights to use professional estates (business licenses), the licenses for the use of spectacles and catering, the rent of commercial properties of the Municipality of Limassol and the license to use part of the sidewalk/square, etc. for outdoor dining purposes.
Specifically, for the garbage fees, the reductions concern companies and business entities that had to suspend their operation based on the orders of the Minister of Health and as recorded on the website.
To reduce the right to use (rent), this will be calculated based on the days that each affected company had suspended its operation and will amount to 50% of the period where it was necessarily closed, based on the Decree of the Minister of Health, provided that affected company will pay the reduced rent/usage rights within 30 days from the date of approval of the reduction.
The objections must be accompanied by all the necessary supporting documents which must be submitted by July 15, 2020, and will then be examined by the competent Service of the Municipality.
