Cyprus officials recently released a list of contractors who were able to sign contracts with the government for the implementation of large projects worth millions of euros.
Construction government projects in 2020 mainly concerned the improvement, expansion and construction of school buildings, construction, maintenance and modernization of roads, as well as the construction and maintenance of public buildings.
The TOP-10 contractors included:
- Cyfield Construction Ltd. The company received the largest amount of funds from the government treasury for the construction, maintenance and improvement of roads - 22.4 million euros.
- They are followed by Iacovou Construction Ltd, which received 14.2 million euros for the construction, maintenance, modernization of roads and construction projects.
- The third place was taken by A. Aristotelous Constructions Ltd, which received 5.9 million euros for the construction and improvement of school buildings.
- Next comes N. Gabriel & Sons Ltd, which also received a payment from a government fund of 3.2 million euros for the improvement, expansion and construction of school buildings.
- Then comes A Panayides Contracting Ltd, they received 2.4 million euros for the design, construction and maintenance of government buildings.
- In sixth place, there is AA Apostolidis Contracting Company Ltd. They got 2.2 million euros for the improvement, expansion of school buildings.
- In seventh place is Makis Savvides & Sons (Contractors) Limassol Ltd, which received 2.2 million euros for road improvement and construction projects.
- They are followed by P. Demou & D. Pareklisitis Ltd, which was allocated 2.2 million euros from the state treasury in 2020 for the design, construction and maintenance of government buildings.
- Stelios Kounna Brothers is in ninth place. In 2020, they got 2 million euros for the design, construction and maintenance of government buildings.
- The last in the list was AN Ioannou Construction Ltd. The company received 1.9 million euros from the state treasury in 2020 for the reconstruction of government buildings.
It should be noted that the published list included all individuals and legal entities that received more than 1 million euros in 2020 as government support.
