The largest share of assets was represented by shares, the total value of which is almost 4 billion euros. Private investment organizations in Cyprus are referred to as the International Collective Investment Schemes (ICIS). A private fund can have up to 100 investors, so-called shareholders. The purpose of such an investment fund is to collectively invest the funds contributed to the fund by the shareholders. This allows investors to pool their assets for transferring them to the management of professional managers and their further investment by independent managers / companies and, in the case of a successful investment, receive tax-free income.
