From 20 to 25 September, Cypriot residents will not be able to use the Tax For All portal. The tax authority's website will be closed for updates.
This was announced by a spokesman for the department on Friday, 20 September.
This means that for five days it will not be possible to access the site and the services it offers. The Cyprus Revenue Authority apologises for any inconvenience and thanks all customers for their understanding.
It should be recalled that the new online platform "Tax for All", developed by the Cyprus Revenue Authority, was launched in March 2023. This website is designed to simplify the declaration of income and payment of taxes, thus helping the state to increase budget revenues.
The main advantage of the portal is that it enables communication with taxpayers, informing them about tax benefits and finding the cheapest and fastest ways to pay the state.
According to the development strategy of the Tax Department, the payment of taxes is carried out with the help of new technologies, which has increased the efficiency of tax policy, reduced tax evasion and helped taxpayers to fulfil their obligations on time. According to the Department, the key to serving taxpayers is to provide them with continuous support through information materials, instructions and notices, as well as complete and detailed navigation through links or automatically displayed messages.
The project will be implemented over two years in three phases. The first phase involves the introduction of VAT payment and collection rules into the system (registration of individuals and companies to pay VAT, tax refund procedures, filling in declarations, obtaining certificates and references). In the second phase, indirect taxes and fees will be incorporated into the new system, and in the third phase, gambling and betting taxes, casino taxes, special taxes for credit organisations and stamp duties will be added. Full implementation of the grand design is scheduled for the end of 2024.
