The realization of the grandiose project has reached the finish line.
On Thursday, March 14, Limassol Mayor Nicos Nicolaides said that the new Carnival Museum will open in May 2024.
Earlier, the mayor and members of the municipal council inspected the construction site and were satisfied with the progress of the work.
Recall that the new attraction will be located in the building of the cultural center "Panos Solomonidis" on the street of the same name. The work have been going on for more than two years.
It is expected that after the opening of the museum, visitors will be able to explore the history of carnival from the Middle Ages to the present day. The museum will exhibit items, texts, and costumes related to the carnival, it will be possible to learn how the holiday was celebrated over the centuries, how the processions were prepared, and what customs were followed by the participants. The museum will occupy two floors with exhibition areas and workshops. In addition, a cozy cafeteria will be opened on the roof.
