The main medical institution of Paphos is going to undergo radical changes.
On Thursday, December 28, it became known that the Department of Environmental Protection issued a permit for the renovation of the building of the central hospital.
The modernization works of the hospital will start during January 2024. In this context, in the medical institution will be created: emergency department, obstetrics and gynecology department, clinic for pregnant women, pediatric nursing department. In addition, a day care unit and a short-term hospitalization unit will be renovated and expanded. In addition, in the long term, the hospital plans to create an intensive care unit and to hire specialists in such critical areas as neurosurgery, vascular surgery, interventional cardiology, and interventional radiology.
The establishment of an Intensive Care Unit at Paphos Central Hospital is necessary because there is a daily need for it. By working in this direction, we will be able to improve the quality of medical services," said the head of the hospital.

We would like to remind you that a modern hemodialysis department has recently appeared at the Paphos Central Hospital. A new building was built for this purpose.
The building has 2 floors. On the first floor there is an area for reception and registration of patients, examination rooms, 27 hemodialysis stations, offices for service personnel, locker rooms and utility rooms. On the second floor there is a duty rest room and other rooms. In addition, the building provides a hemodialysis room with a separate entrance for people with HIV and infectious diseases. The new department also has a room for breastfeeding, a room for peritoneal dialysis, and a small surgical room. The total area of the building is 2.1 thousand m2.
