The realisation of this magnificent project is finally complete.
On Sunday 26th May the Carnival Museum of Limassol was inaugurated.
The official event was attended by the mayor of the city, Nikos Nikolaidis, and other members of the city council.
The new attraction is housed in the Panos Solomonidis Cultural Centre building on the street of the same name. Work on the project took more than two years.
According to the idea, visitors to the new museum will be able to study the history of the Limassol Carnival from the Middle Ages to the present day. It displays objects, texts and costumes related to the carnival. Here you can learn how the festival was celebrated over the centuries, how the processions were prepared and the customs followed by the participants. The museum has two floors of exhibition areas and workshops. There is also a cosy cafeteria on the roof.
