The Cyprus Environment Ministry has granted planning permission for a new residential development called Aura Residences in Larnaca.
As the development site borders the Special Protection Zone (ZEP) and the Aliki Salt Lake, the department has imposed a number of requirements on the developer. For example, they had to minimise the impact of light pollution and the risk of the project affecting the birds that live in the area. The developer was required to reduce the amount of transparent surfaces on the exposed external parts of the buildings by using alternative opaque materials. The Department also imposed a ban on the use of floodlights during the construction and operational phases of the development.
The land on which Aura Residences will be built is located approximately 2km south of the centre of Larnaca Municipality, 1km south-east of Larnaca is Mackenzie Beach and 400m west is Aliki Lake.
The development has been designed to offer its owners the perfect combination of comfort, style and breathtaking views. The development consists of three modern 8-storey buildings with a total of 47 two-bedroom apartments. The apartments will range in size from 85m2 to 87m2.
The building will have a class A energy certificate. Each apartment will have an armoured door, individual solar water heating, underfloor heating, high quality sanitary ware and a kitchen suite.
