Tax For All in Cyprus to Be Temporarily Unavailable

Cyprus' Tax Department has announced a temporary shutdown of the Tax For All (TFA) digital platform to carry out scheduled maintenance. The system will be unavailable from 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

During this period, taxpayers will not be able to use the platform's online services, including submitting tax returns, filing reports, or carrying out other tax-related transactions. The department advises users to plan ahead to avoid any delays.

VIES submission deadline extended until July 20

Due to the temporary unavailability of the platform, the Commissioner of Taxation has decided to extend the deadline for submitting the June 2026 VIES Recapitulative Statement until July 20, 2026.

The VIES report must be submitted each month by VAT-registered businesses that supply goods or provide services to companies in other European Union member states. The system enables EU tax authorities to monitor intra-community transactions and ensure the correct application of VAT.

Reports submitted after July 20 will be considered late. Late filing may result in financial penalties, including a €50 fine for late submission, as well as additional tax assessments where applicable under current legislation.

Similar outages have taken place before

This is not the first scheduled update of the Tax For All platform in 2026. The system was previously unavailable between May 7 and May 12, 2026. On that occasion, the Tax Department also extended the deadlines for first-quarter VAT returns and the April VIES statement until May 20.

During that maintenance period, the penalties for missing the extended deadlines included a €100 fine for late VAT return submission, an additional surcharge of 10% on any unpaid tax, and a €50 fine for late submission of the VIES statement.

What is Tax For All and why is it updated regularly?

Tax For All (TFA) is Cyprus' unified digital tax platform, allowing individuals, self-employed professionals, and businesses to submit tax returns, register for tax services, pay taxes, and communicate electronically with the Tax Department.

The transition to TFA began in 2023 and is being implemented in stages. The government is gradually migrating all major tax procedures to the new platform, replacing older electronic systems. As a result, the platform is periodically taken offline during major upgrades, while filing deadlines are adjusted to ensure taxpayers are not disadvantaged by scheduled maintenance.

The Tax Department advises businesses and accountants to take scheduled maintenance periods into account when planning their tax filings and to monitor official announcements, as further upgrades to the TFA platform are expected to continue over the coming years.
