Construction material prices have finally decreased.
According to the latest data from the Cyprus Statistical Service released on Wednesday, March 20, the Construction Materials Price Index reached 116.95 points in February 2023 (on a 2015 basis = 100), showing a decrease of 0.06% compared to the previous month of 2024, and a decrease of 2.21% compared to the same month of 2023.
The largest price increases among building materials in February 2024 were recorded in the following product categories:
- minerals (+1.22%),
- mineral products (+0.54%),
- electromechanical products (+0.35%).
On the contrary, decreases were recorded in wood products, insulating materials, chemicals, and plastics - by 0.73% and metal products - by 8%.
For the period January- February 2024, the index recorded a decrease of 2.23% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
The price index of construction products reflects the change in prices in the construction of objects of various types of economic activity.
