According to a study by the Australian company Compare the Market, Paphos has entered the top ten places in the world to buy vacation property.
The cultural capital of Cyprus took second place, Venice took the first one. Abu Dhabi was on the third line.
The study by Compare the Market analyzed locations around the world taking into account specific factors such as the availability of activities and entertainment, accessibility, cost of living, crime rate and weather.
At the same time, Compare the Market noted that Cyprus is not as much a tourist location as Venice, because the island is better suited for a permanent quiet life.
"The city, located on the southwestern coast of the island, has a wonderful Mediterranean climate with an average annual temperature of 19.2 C. It is also one of the most affordable places where the average property price in Paphos is 1547 euros per m2. In addition to several historical sites in the city, there is a modern area of New Paphos around the harbor with many bars and restaurants," the Compare the Market report says.
It is noteworthy that the Greek island of Corfu took the sixth place in the list of popular resorts for buying a home.
Larnaca also entered the top ten.
The coastal city was placed on the 9th line of the rating.
"Larnaca is a beach resort and port city, famous for its Finikoudes beach, a sandy strip in the center of the city, and a beautiful promenade with palm trees. There are many bars in the city. And one of the main attractions is the sunken Zenobia ship. The average price of housing in Larnaca is 1318 euros per m2", - Compare the Market said.
