The CYENS Centre of Excellence recently announced the launch of an accelerator program called Nicosia².
The main goal of the program is to support and promote promising teams by providing them with advice and training that will help turn interesting ideas into viable projects.
According to a CYENS representative, the Nicosia² program includes 4 stages. At the first, which will last until September 26, everyone can apply for participation in the program. At the same time, the projects of the applicants must meet the following criteria:
- benefit society and the environment;
- create new jobs;
- meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals;
- meet the business model of a circular economy, i.e. be based on renewable resources.
It is worth noting that when selecting participants, priority will be given to projects using digital twins to solve the problems faced by cities and their residents.
By the way, the concept of digital twin is part of the fourth industrial revolution and is designed to help enterprises to more quickly detect physical problems, more accurately predict their results and produce better products.
The winner is expected to be announced on October 8, and on October 18 he will start collaborating with CYENS.
As you may know, the CYENS Center of Excellence (formerly known as RISE) is a research center of excellence in Cyprus specializing in interactive media, intelligent systems and new technologies aimed at enhancing the transfer of knowledge and technology in the region. It is a joint venture between three public universities in Cyprus (University of Cyprus, Cyprus University of Technology and Cyprus Open University), the Municipality of Nicosia and two renowned international partners - Max Planck Institute for Informatics (Germany) and University College London (United Kingdom).
