Nicosia has made it into the top 25 best cities in Europe for digital nomads, according to Fortune magazine.
In particular, the Cypriot capital was ranked an honourable 13th.
According to experts, Nicosia offers ideal living conditions for professionals who prefer to work remotely. There is an ideal cost/standard of living ratio, fast internet, quality healthcare, low crime rate and a favourable tax regime.
It is worth noting that a study by Fortune Publishing has shown that digital nomads are increasingly choosing emerging European destinations over expensive global cities. The main criteria for their choice are: visa requirements, cost of living, crime rates, healthcare, broadband and climate.
Vlora topped the new ranking. The top five are: Kalamata, Izmir, Valletta and Malaga. Next are: Patras, Tirana, Durres, Valencia, Catania, Athens, Larissa, Nicosia, Rome, Thessaloniki, Istanbul, Naples, Bologna, Split, Podgorica, Zadar, Pula, Faro, Madrid, Timisoara.
As a reminder, digital nomads are people who do not depend on a physical place of work and combine their activities with constant travelling around the world. All you need is a laptop, phone, internet and a profession that lends itself to remote working.
