Why was the pool closed?
Popular with the capital's residents, the pool, known as Lellos Pool, was closed in September 2021 due to the need for major repairs. During this time, the exterior and pool basins were renovated. Now, it is time for a thorough interior renovation, without which the facility cannot operate.
Large-scale work inside the building
According to the tender documents, the project involves completely renovating the interiors while preserving the load-bearing structures. The metal roof in the courtyard will be dismantled, and the partitions, sanitary facilities, and outdated engineering systems will be removed. All floor and wall coverings will be replaced, and a new panoramic elevator will replace the old staircase.
Special attention will be given to modernizing the engineering networks. The building will be completely cleared of old electrical and mechanical installations. Then, modern, energy-efficient systems will be installed. Renovating the roof coverings and insulating the facades is also planned, which will significantly reduce maintenance costs.
