Paphos will build a new tourist complex

The Cyprus Environment Ministry has granted permission for the construction and operation of a new tourist complex in the Peyia area of Paphos.

According to the press release, the project will be carried out on a plot of land with a total area of 8,343m2, of which 2,061m2 will be occupied by buildings. The developer will also build 10 luxury villas with private pools. There will also be parking spaces, recreational areas and a modern biological sewage treatment plant.

The project will be situated in a very attractive location:

  1. 70 metres north of the protected coastline
  2. 400 metres south of Coral Bay beach;
  3. 560 metres south-west of the main Coral Bay road;
  4. 800 metres south-west of the Ascos Coral Beach Hotel.

The preliminary construction cost of the Peyia Tourist Complex is estimated at €7.5 million. It is worth mentioning that in order to minimise the impact on the environment, the authority has set a number of mandatory conditions that must be met during the operation of the complex. Among the most important are:

Energy efficiency

  1. Use of energy efficient appliances and equipment (lighting, refrigerators, televisions, water heaters, air conditioning, etc.).
  2. Exploring the possibility of installing photovoltaic panels and solar collectors to partially cover the energy needs of the complex.
  3. Regulate lighting levels to minimise light pollution.
  4. Installing double-glazed windows and using building materials with low heat transfer coefficients.

Rational use of water resources

  1. Equipping facilities with special water-saving accessories.
  2. Installing water pressure regulators and taps with adjustable flow rates.
  3. Integration of a rainwater collection and storage system.
  4. Installing rain sensors to optimise the operation of irrigation systems.
  5. Regular monitoring of plumbing installations to prevent water leaks.

The Peyia Tourist Complex project aims not only to develop the region's tourism infrastructure, but also to meet modern environmental standards. The implementation of energy efficient solutions and prudent water management will ensure its sustainability and minimise its environmental impact.
