Construction of new marina in Paralimni progressing according to schedule.
On Friday, August 18, Antoulis Kountouris, the head of PMV Maritime Holdings Ltd, the company responsible for building and managing the extensive project, announced that the construction of the new marina in Paralimni is proceeding as planned.
He noted that workers are actively constructing a building that will house government services and the Paralimni Marina refueling station. Previously, two breakwaters were installed in the port: a windward one measuring 500 meters and a leeward one measuring 100 meters.
In the meantime, PMV Maritime Holdings Ltd successfully attracted large Cypriot and international companies to the commercial part of the project, including Armani and Ferretti Group.
Kountouris also mentioned that all two- and three-bedroom apartments in the first phase of the residential part of Paralimni Marina have already been sold. The majority of buyers are Cypriots from Nicosia. The head of PMV Maritime Holdings Ltd also expressed satisfaction with the interest shown in mooring pleasure boats. By the way, the management of the new marina has already received over 500 applications from potential clients.
To remind, the marina with a total area of 29,000 m2 is being built in the area of Pernera, in Louma Bay, between the green zone and the existing fishing harbor here since 1980.
After the project is completed, the new harbor will be able to accommodate 300 yachts. The territory will feature shops, restaurants, cafes, and a boutique hotel. However, the pearl of the marina will be the elite residential complex, which includes unique villas and 119 apartments in six high-rises. The tallest building will have 10 floors.
For the convenience of residents and visitors, a promenade will be laid from the complex to the beaches of Protaras, and a parking lot for a record 600 parking spaces will be created.
The cost of the grand project is estimated at 110 million euros.
Participating companies include PMV Maritime Holdings Ltd, J&P, Marina Projects Ltd, Nicolaidis & Kountouris Metal Company Ltd. The project's architect is Harper Downie Creative Architecture (United Kingdom) in collaboration with Kythreotis Architects. Landscaping will be handled by Camlins.
It is worth noting that Paralimni Marina is the third in a series of marinas that are operational, under construction, or planned throughout the island. The Limassol Marina has been operating at full capacity since 2014, and the Ayia Napa Marina opened in 2022. In turn, the Paralimni Marina, set to open in 2024, will be the largest development project in this region.
