On Friday 28 March, a new boutique hotel called Amyth of Nicosia opened its doors to guests in Nicosia.
The colourful hotel is located in a historic building in the heart of the city centre, on Grigoriou Street, within the medieval Venetian walls.
The hotel's convenient location makes it an ideal place to explore the cultural and business life of Nicosia. There is plenty to see and do nearby, including the Museum of Byzantine Art, the Cyprus Ethnological Museum and the Old Town.
Amyth of Nicosia is based in an old mansion that has been restored. A total of 10 cosy rooms are available for guests. Since the architecture of the historic building determined the style and the main concept of the interior design, reflecting the link between the past and the present, various unique elements (arches, patios, tiled floors, grand staircase, decorative walls and ceilings with frescoes) were preserved during the renovation process.
.
The interiors of the hotel date back to the early 1900's and retain the traditional details of that era, while the original floors, the grand and majestic staircase and the elaborate finishes give the hotel its charm and nobility. It is worth noting that the architectural design was developed by the office of Iraklis Papachristou, while the interior and exterior decoration was created by Maria Neofitou.
The rooms of Amyth of Nicosia are characterised by the attention to detail and care for the comfort of the guests. Starting with comfortable mattresses and soft pillows, everything is designed to make guests' stay an unforgettable experience. The heart of the new boutique hotel is the multi-functional area on the ground floor, which houses the reception, bar, lounge, library and restaurant with a terrace. Room rates at the new hotel start at 350 euros.
It should be noted that Amyth of Nicosia is part of the Thanos Hotels chain, which also includes the 5-star Anassa Hotel in Latchi and the Almira and Annabel hotels in Paphos.
