Researchers at the new archeological museum are working feverishly, and if all goes well, work will begin in early July 2021.
As Phoivos Iakovidis, Senior Architect of the Department of Public Works, told, the studies' preparation is in the final stage.
By the end of the year, the last analyses and the accompanying documents are expected to be submitted. After all examination and approval, the Department announcement of tenders.

The designers have already submitted preliminary/interim plans reviewed and approved by the Department of Public Works when it is considered that much preparation has been done and what is expected is the "implementation studies," as the final construction plans are called.
Answering a relevant question, Mr. Iakovidis stated that the delay due to the pandemic measures ranged to about one and a half months. He explained that due to the nature of the project, the researchers must be coordinated to coordinate/examine the plans that are being prepared, something that cannot be done remotely.
It is noted that scholars (of various specialties) are active in Athens, Thessaloniki, and Cyprus.

Suppose all goes well with the study's comments and approval and meaning that the architect will submit all the necessary by the end of the year within February 2021.
In that case, the bids will be announced, and the project will begin in early July, Mr. Iakovidis said.
The Period when the works expected to start is not the best. Considering that in addition to the weather conditions prevailing in July, the construction sites will be closed for the summer holidays in August, when the works will start at an average pace at the end of August or and the beginning of September, provided that no other restrictive measures will be applied.
It is recalled that the estimated cost at € 83 000 000 plus VAT.
The project will be constructed on the old Nicosia Hospital site, which is enclosed by Jiavaharlal Nehrou and Heilonos avenues and by the river Pediaio. It is located close to the existing Archaeological Museum and the House of Representatives.
