A contract was recently signed in Paphos for the establishment of a new tourist information office.

The construction of this important infrastructure facility will be carried out by BKV Exelixis General Constructions Ltd, which will implement the project on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism. The contract was signed by the mayor of Paphos, Fedonas Fedonos, on behalf of the municipality, and by the company's director, Demetris Konteatis, on behalf of the contractor.
The project involves the construction of a modern tourist center on the selected site, which will become the new headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism in Paphos. The total cost of the work is estimated at €234,430 (including VAT). The ministry will provide full financing for this amount.
According to the terms of the contract, the work is subject to the municipality's direct supervision and is to be completed within six months of the commencement of construction. However, the authorities have not ruled out the possibility of early completion, contingent upon strict adherence to the established schedule and quality standards.
Once the facility is operational, it will employ four full-time staff members and will become the primary tourist information point, providing support to both visitors and residents.
The office will provide navigation, advice, and promotion of events and local attractions.
The facility's strategic location in the heart of the old town, adjacent to the central bus station and within walking distance of two new museums scheduled to open in the near future, ensures optimal accessibility and convenience for visitors. This will ensure maximum accessibility and convenience for all categories of visitors.
