The Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras, has officially welcomed the artists' park.
The new public space called "Mesogios" is finally available for all residents and guests of the coastal city.
The project was realized by C. Roushas Trading & Development Ltd. Its tasks included the creation of a paved square, installation of modern lighting and comfortable benches, as well as landscaping.
Vyras noted the high quality of the project and thanked the contractor for the work done.

The park is located on a plot of land formerly owned by Turkish-Cypriots and now leased to Larnaca Municipality.
It is connected to the renovated Piale Pasha Street and is adjacent to the municipal parking lot created on the site of the former Turkish-Cypriot cinema. Artists are expected to start creating and placing their works in the park very soon. Cultural events will also take place here. The cost of the project is estimated at 945 thousand euros (plus VAT). Part of the money was allocated from the European Union's budget for environment, maritime affairs, and fisheries questions.
This project is an initiative of the Larnaca Tourism Development and Promotion Company. In particular, the organization considers the area of Skala as a "diamond in the rough" with great prospects for tourism, as it is one of the few locations in the city that remains completely authentic, which is especially appealing to foreign visitors. As the area is not very interested in modern developers, it retains much of its traditional character, with white small houses with colorful window frames.

Note that earlier the Larnaca Municipality announced the completion of the Piale Pasha Street renovation project.
