Latchi Marina is waiting for a radical transformation.
This was announced by Antonis Stylianou, the Chair of the Port Authority Board.
According to him, at the last council meeting, they decided to increase the territory of the harbor and its water area by 3 times.
In addition, in the context of the transition to a green economy, the Latchi marina will be transformed into a modern, energy-efficient port.
By the way, Latchi Marina will become the first "green port" not only in Cyprus, but throughout the Mediterranean.
Stylianou explained that the term "green port" means that it will operate exclusively from renewable energy sources, clean energy for the environment, fully in line with EU targets for reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
He also added that literally on Friday a contract was signed for the development of a new project for Latchi Marina.
Stylianou expressed his confidence that in the next few years people will enjoy a stunning all-green harbor.

Recall that the port of Latchi is a small marina located in the heart of the village, which is part of the Polis municipality, on the northern coast of the Paphos district.
Marina Latchi is one of the official ports of entry to Cyprus with all the services traditionally provided in a harbor.
The port of Latchi was originally used by fishing boats and small craft. In recent years, due to increasing demand from holidaymakers, mainly nautical tourism, the harbor has been expanded - a new external pool has been built to serve recreational boats, while the old port pool has been left for fishing boats.
Over time, two docks 70 meters long were installed in it, and a platform for small vessels 100 meters long was erected. The depth in the port is from 2 to 4 meters.
After the work was carried out, the port became the hallmark of Polis, and the village of Latchi became widely known. However, today the port has many operational problems, it requires a radical reconstruction.
Earlier, the Polis Municipality signed an important contract with L. Papamichael Holdings Ltd. The agreement implies carrying out comprehensive work on the improvement and modernization of warehouses of the administration of the port of Latchi.
