On Thursday 10 October, the Limassol Municipality announced the extension of the deadline for the payment of the sewerage tax.
Residents will be able to pay their bills until 13 December 2024.
After this date, the municipality will start imposing penalties, according to local legislation. The council has announced that all sewerage bills will now be sent by email only. Citizens who have not yet received their bills are advised to immediately contact the Limassol District Municipal Organisation (EOA) on 25-271000 or fill in an online application on the authority's website.
There are several ways to pay the tax:
- through the official website eoalemesos.org.cy;
- through the JCC service;
- in person, at the Limassol EOA cash offices located in the former Water Board building.
For convenience, all customers are strongly advised to pay online. However, after 13 December, payments will only be accepted at the organisation's tills.
As a reminder, sewerage tax is payable once a year by property owners in Cyprus. The amount is approximately €80. It should be noted that if the property is rented out on a long term basis, this payment is covered by the tenant. There are other taxes that you should be aware of before buying or renting a property in Cyprus.
