Limassol Municipality announced that the city has completed the reconstruction of three parks with modern basketball courts.
All sports facilities meet international quality standards.
They have all the necessary equipment to play 3x3 games. Basketball courts have been equipped with ecological, wear-resistant and all-weather professional surfaces.
There are modern sports stadiums:
- In the park at the junction of Atlantos and Epidavrou Streets in the Agios Spyridonas area;
- In the park at the junction of Evagora Lanitis and Axiou streets in the Ekali neighbourhood;
- in the park at the junction of Lykavitos and Lysikratos Streets in the Ekali area.
The new sites are available to all citizens without the need to book in advance. The citizens of Limassol now have the opportunity to play basketball free of charge in modern sports facilities.
The construction of street basketball courts is an important social initiative aimed at increasing the popularity of this sport among young people and citizens of all ages, as basketball, being one of the most accessible sports, becomes a starting point for many children to achieve new significant victories and achievements, - said the Limassol Municipality.
The municipality also mentioned that the budget for 2025 includes funds for the creation of more sports grounds in parks throughout the city. At the same time, a major upgrade of existing playgrounds is planned in order to provide safe and comfortable recreational areas for everyone.
