On Wednesday 4th December the Cypriot Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth signed a contract with the A. ARISTOTELOUS - S. HADJICHRISTOFI JV consortium for the construction of a new building to meet the needs of the students of the Larnaca Technical School.
The documents were authenticated by Andreas Maragos, representative of the government authority, and by Aristos Aristotelous, director of technical services, on behalf of the contractor. Also present at the signing were Chrysanthos Chrysanthou of CHRYSANTHOS & PAPACHRISTOU - ARCHITECTS, engineers and officials from the Ministry of the Interior.
According to the press release, the new building will be constructed in the Aradippou area, near the Rizoelia roundabout. The total area of the educational building will be 22.5 thousand m2. It will have spacious classrooms, workshops, ancillary rooms and conference halls.
The cost of the project is estimated at 30.678 million euros plus VAT and it will be co-financed by the European Cohesion Policy Programme "THALEIA 2021-2027". The implementation period will be 36 months.
According to the Ministry, after moving into the new building, the Technical College will focus on introducing new green professions in line with the specific needs of the emerging green economy. The modern building will be able to accommodate around 630 students.
