Israel's Hadassah Hospital is preparing to open a branch in Cyprus.
Osopil Ltd recently submitted a project to the Cyprus Environment Ministry to build a large medical complex called the Hadassah Healthcare Park.
If the initiative is approved, the total investment will exceed €150 million. According to a statement from the department, public consultations on the project will continue until 12 April 2025, after which the department will make its decision.
The Hadassah Healthcare Park will combine a state-of-the-art clinic, a medical university and biotechnology laboratories, making it one of the largest medical centres in Cyprus. The complex will be built in the Lakatamia district of Nicosia, close to important natural and urban sites: 440m from the Lakatamia Stadium, 650m from Lake Maglis, 520m from the linear park along the Pedios River.
Hadassah Healthcare Park is a mixed-use development that will include
- A 5-storey private hospital building with advanced medical facilities;
- A rehabilitation centre for the treatment of post-surgery and post-injury patients, drug addiction recovery and more;
- A medical school building for 900 students;
- A 232-room student hostel;
A commercial building for biotech companies and medical and pharmaceutical start-ups.
The clinic is expected to offer a high level of diagnostics, surgery and therapies, including oncology, cardiology and neurology. The construction of Hadassah Healthcare Raghkulit will strengthen Cyprus' position as a leading medical and educational centre in the region, offering state-of-the-art, world-class services.
The Hadassah organisation was founded in 1912 in New York to provide medical care to the people of Jerusalem. Today it operates 22 buildings, 130 departments and 1,100 hospital beds. It employs 850 doctors and its clinics are ranked among the best in the world.
