Construction of a new marina in Paralimni is progressing at a rapid pace.
According to Antonis Kountouris, the CEO of PMV Maritime Holdings Ltd, the company responsible for building and managing this ambitious project, the first phase is nearing completion. Two breakwaters, one measuring 500 meters and the other 100 meters, have been constructed in the port.
In the near future, construction workers will begin building the facility, which will house government services and the Paralimni Marina refueling station.
It is worth noting that the marina, with a total area of 29,000 square meters, is being constructed in the Pernera area, in the bay of Louma, between the green zone and the existing fishing harbor established in 1980.
Once the project is completed, the new marina will accommodate 300 yachts. The area will feature shops, restaurants, cafes, and a boutique hotel. However, the highlight of the marina will be an elite residential complex comprising unique villas and 119 apartments in six high-rise buildings. The tallest building will have 10 floors.
For the convenience of residents and visitors, a promenade will be built connecting the complex to the beaches of Protaras, and a record-breaking parking area with 600 parking spaces will be created.
The grand project is estimated to cost 110 million euros.
The participating companies include PMV Maritime Holdings Ltd, J&P, Marina Projects Ltd, and Nicolaidis&Kountouris Metal Company Ltd. The architectural design is being undertaken by Harper Downie Creative Architecture (United Kingdom) in collaboration with Kythreotis Architects, and the landscaping will be handled by Camlins.
It is worth mentioning that Paralimni Marina is the third marina in a network of marinas that have been completed, are under construction, or are planned across the island. Limassol Marina has been operating at full capacity since 2014, and Ayia Napa Marina opened in 2022. Paralimni Marina, set to open in two years, will be the largest development project in this region.
