Time and the natural ageing process inevitably change the appearance of Limassol's buildings. However, in recent years the municipality has been actively promoting an idea that aims to restore historically significant buildings, especially in the city centre.
As part of this initiative, the mayor's office has announced its intention to renovate a building at the junction of Saripolou and Agios Neophytos streets.
On Tuesday 13 August, the Mayor of Limassol, Yiannis Armeftis, announced a call for tenders.
Interested parties can apply for the tender until 4 October 2024. The municipality will then summarise the results and announce the winner, who will be able to start the project immediately.
It should be noted that the works include the modification and reconstruction of the building according to the plans and specifications established by the municipality, as well as any additional requirements that the municipal authorities may request during the project.
The aim is to preserve the architectural heritage of the building while creating a modern workspace that meets the needs of the community. Once operational, the building will house the staff of Limassol Municipality.
The successful completion of this project is an important initiative to revitalise the urban environment of Limassol. Our task is to create a functional space while preserving its historical identity," stressed Armeftis.
The cost of the project is estimated at €660,000 and it should take no more than 12 months to complete.
