A study for the construction of a high-rise building in Larnaca, owned by the Church, is before the environmental authority for approval.
This is the 12-storey building, 60 meters high, with the name "Trophy", which will be built in the area of Sotiros and will include mainly office space and shops.
As mentioned in the study, the project concerns a multi-storey 12-storey building, which will include the following:
- Stores
- Offices
- Storage spaces
- 2 underground parking spaces with 34 parking spaces (of which 4 for the disabled).
- Public spaces
- Mechanical installations
- Green Space
The project is located within the Sotiros urban area of Larnaca province. The plot that will host the proposed project is located about 15km southwest of Larnaca Marina and east of Larnaca city center.
The wider area is characterised by shops, restaurants and cafes.
Southwest of the proposed project, at a distance of 8km, is the Special Protection Zone and Place of Community Importance "Larnaca Saltworks". It is emphasized, however, that the implementation of the project is not expected to affect the protected area.
It is worth noting that the total time needed to complete the building is about 18 months.
As mentioned in the environmental study, the owner of the project is the company "TROPAION". Partners in this project are the Church of Agios Lazaros and the Monastery of Agios Georgios Kontos.
The purpose of the project is to meet the development needs of the wider area. At the same time, it is expected that its operation will further enrich the economic potential of the wider area and will strengthen its social and economic character with the creation of offices and stores.
