On Thursday 14th March the Land Department released new data on property sales in Cyprus in February 2025.
According to the department, the number of transactions increased by 7% to 1,371 in the second month of the new year, compared to 1,284 in February 2024.
In turn, between January and February 2025, 2,646 property sales contracts were signed in Cyprus, compared to 2,340 in the same period in 2024, an increase of 13%.
The positive trend in February was recorded in all Cypriot cities except Paphos and the free areas of Famagusta. In Limassol, 389 housing units were realised during the month, compared to 378 in February 2024. In the first two months of 2025, 818 properties were sold in Limassol compared to 693 in the corresponding two months of 2024, an increase of 18%.
Larnaca came second with 335 contracts compared to 247 a year earlier. In January-February 2025, 594 sales contracts were signed in this Cypriot city compared to 462 in the same period last year.
Nicosia is in third place with 315 properties sold in February 2025 compared to 280 in February last year, an increase of 13%. As for the first two months of 2025, exactly the same percentage increase was recorded, with 591 properties sold in the capital compared to 524 for the same period in 2024.
Paphos is next. In this Cypriot city, 280 units were sold in February 2025 (-10%), compared to 310 in the corresponding month of 2024. In January-February, 535 housing transactions were completed in Paphos, compared to 552 in the first two months of 2024. This represents a decrease of 3%.
Finally, in the vacant areas of Famagusta, 52 properties were sold in February 2025 compared to 69 in February last year (-25%), while they remained almost stable at the same level in the first two months of the year.
